About the C shape
The C shape is the movable version of the familiar open C chord. Like the A shape, its root is on the fifth string, but where the A shape builds ahead of the root, the C shape reaches behind it, with the root played by the little finger.
What makes the C shape special is its voicing: a closed root-position triad, strong and clear, with the root repeated again at the top.
